About Monkey Painters

A local painting business led by Edgar Araujo — known as «Monkey» — a painter trained in the United States who brought the American working method to Tenerife: Airless spray application (Titan and Graco) and turbines for lacquering doors and kitchens.

Our Story and Experience

Behind Monkey Painters is Edgar Araujo, «Monkey» in the construction and coating world, a nickname he is proud of. He trained as a painter in the United States, where he learned the American way of working — from the tools to the way each finish is executed — spraying paint with Airless guns from brands like Titan and Graco.

He came to the Canary Islands from Venezuela through his family ties to the islands — his relatives are Canarian — and settled in Los Cristianos, Arona, where he has lived for 20 years and set up his own business, with a strong presence in the south of Tenerife.

His specialty is a quality finish with American technique: lacquering doors and kitchens with a turbine, and painting walls with a roller or Airless gun depending on the job. Mastery of the product and the application is what makes the difference in the final result.

Built with a lot of effort, the Monkey brand has become synonymous with responsibility and good judgment. What has not changed is the way we work: we visit the space before quoting, we deliver a detailed written quote, we arrive on time and we do not consider the job finished until the client is satisfied.

How We Work

Our work is based on direct communication, honest assessment and careful surface preparation.

Honesty

We explain what each surface needs before quoting, including what is included and what would require separate treatment.

Preparation

Good painting starts before opening the paint bucket: protection, filling, sanding, priming and drying times matter.

Durability

We choose systems according to the support, use and exposure, not only by colour or price.

Our Painting Process

The same basic method applies to homes, facades, communities and commercial premises.

1

Protection

We protect floors, furniture, skirting boards, sockets and access areas before painting.

2

Surface preparation

We repair small defects, sand, clean dust and apply primer where needed.

3

Correct number of coats

We apply the coats required for coverage and finish, respecting drying times.

4

Final review

We check the work with the client and correct details before closing the job.

Materials and Systems

We work with washable paints, anti-humidity systems, primers, facade coatings, microcement, epoxy, broadcast epoxy systems and polyurethane cement when the project requires it.

Interior systems

  • Washable matt paints
  • Anti-humidity and anti-stain paints
  • Fixing primers

The business is led directly by Monkey Painters, who supervises criteria, materials and work standards.

Before Hiring Painters

A serious quote should be clear, written and specific to the real condition of the property.

1

Ask for a written quote

It should include surfaces, preparation, materials, number of coats, timing and payment conditions.

2

Ask about materials

Paint quality, primers and coatings change durability. The product should match the surface and use.

3

Be careful with very low prices

They may hide missing preparation, fewer coats or cheaper materials.

4

Clarify what is not included

Active damp, structural cracks or major substrate repairs should be explained before starting.
